This project started as my translation of the life and works of the intellectuals massacred by the Pakistani military and the local Al-Badar Bahini (militia wing of Jamat-e-Islami) during the Bangladesh Liberation War against Pakistan in 1971. Due to the encouragements of (and hatemail from) many of you, I have started translating the Bangla Charitavidhan ("Dictionary of Biography") published by Bangla Academy.
